So it appears my Sonos S2 app has updated to version 80.0. This has led to some troubles with getting the app to update the music index of my collection on the NAS. The support page states that "update your music library" is unavailable and that

This setting is not currently available in the Sonos app for iOS or Android, but it will return in a future update.

As a temporary workaround, please use the Sonos app for macOS or Windows to manage and update your music library.

That's all nice and dandy, but my OS is Ubuntu.

Now what?

OK, I seem to have solved it.

  1. Install the Noson app.
  2. Under "algemene instellingen" (general settings) added the music folder as an "additional music location"
  3. Under "Sonos-instellingen" (Sonos settings) hit the re-index button
  4. Presto! The Sonos S2 app should now display any newly added music.

I hope this information is helpful to other community members.

Finally, I´d like to add that I am a bit miffed that Sonos dropped this feature from their app without offering a decent alternative to any non-Windows / Mac users. I know we are a minority, but I still think that was rather inconsiderate.

Via de PC- of Mac-app kan misschien ook?

Helaas. Dat was nu net het probleem: Mijn besturingssysteem is Ubuntu (linux), dus de Windows en MacOS apps zijn geen optie voor mij.
