Hi,
Some context: I've got 2 systems, one is a single play3, and the main setup has 2x play3, a single One-SL and a Roam.
Android 14 is the os version , with plenty of memory space, storage space.
The internet is fibre-optic 200MB up and down.
Country is The Netherlands, where internet services are usually very stable and fast.
The Sonos app still has so much trouble connecting to the players and then to load the homepage with current session, recent stuff etc.
Even where the single play3 is connected by wire cat-6 and phone is in same room about 3 metres in clear path from WiFi transmitter on same switch.
But even if I have made a connection and started playing some music (usually Sonos radio or Spotify), switch to another app, then return to the Sonos app just a few minutes later, it is so slow and even sometimes just failing to find the system and the active session. I just cannot understand this.
Is everything from the app loaded from a remote cloud, every time it is activated or gets focus?
Is the connection from the phone app to the speaker also going via remote cloud somehow? Why is it always needing so much time to find the speakers, even when the connection is wired, ip-addresses are reserved in router, nothing much changes but every time it just seems to have to search the whole world to find the speaker (or not find it).
Can you explain at least something about this app-to-speaker connection?
Every update for the app has been installed, every update for speakers as well as soon as they are available, but this situation has been here from the start of the new app and no update has yet provided improvements.
Do you think, would it help to just completely remove all (app with all local storage, Sonos account, factory reset speakers) and reinstall as a complete new setup?
Grtz,
Ralph
